Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

On Sunday, the Feast of Christ the King, the RCIA Team Members welcomed twelve men and women who have expressed their desire to be baptized in the Catholic faith or have the desire to become full members of the Catholic Church through the reception of the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil. They are: Peter Banach, Todd Dangler, Anthony Ewing, Roberta Fiore, Patricia Iacovone, Alexis Melendez, Tina Munn, Tim Munn, Sheila Popo, Kenneth Robinson, Donna Rogers and Ruth Rudolph. Please keep these special men and women in prayer as they prepare to receive the Easter Sacraments. Photographed below are some of the candidates participating in the Rite of Welcome.

Are you interested in becoming Catholic?  Are you baptized (Catholic or non-Catholic) and have the desire to receive First Holy Communion and Confirmation?  Have you never been baptized?  Are you interested in gaining a clearer understanding of the Catholic faith?  If the answer is yes to any of these questions, the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is designed to meet your needs.  Catechetical instruction classes will be taught weekly at a time and day convenient for everyone.  At the Easter Vigil those who are comfortable in receiving the sacraments will become full members of the Catholic Church.  In addition, those who have not been baptized or have not received Holy Communion will be asked to attend the first part of the Mass (Liturgy of the Word) on Sunday as a group, followed by a half hour or so discussing scripture, beginning the First Sunday of Advent.  If you or someone you know is interested in RCIA, please call the Rectory.

A candidate signs the Book of the Elect.
The congregation raise their hands to bless the candidates.
